On Saturday, April 9, four individuals tested for new black belt ranks (one for junior rank black belt, two for adult rank black belt, and one for second degree black belt). The judging panel was led by Grandmaster Crandall, Master Chuff, Master Freleigh, Master Morris, Master Moller, Chief Instructor Stalloch, Senior Instructor Cumings, and many other 5th and 6th degree black belt instructors. The testing lasted nearly five hours. The testing began with an intensive written examination including information about the style, the school, philosophical concepts of yin and yang, the lineage or "roots" of the school, and more. Hamilton College Wellness Fair

On Wednesday, April 6, the American Martial Arts Institute participated in Hamilton College's annual wellness fair to talk with members of the community about health, awareness, and personal safety. Master Stalloch, Master Freleigh, and Senior Instructor Cumings set up a display that included a television playing the DVDs Cane-Fu:Moving Beyond Disabilities, Takenouchi-Hangan-Ryu-Matsuno-Crandall Iaido and Batto-do, and others. The display also included a laptop featuring the school's website, pictures from our recent events, and the many books and DVDs produced by the school. Dozens of other vendors were on site, and hundreds of people participated. The school gave away some of our books as
