Welcome to our news and archives.  Please note that all test results are posted for the current year, but may not appear in the archives.  Full records are kept at our main office.  In addition, photographs and news releases prior to 1997 are kept in our school library at our main location dating back to the 1960s.

RE-OPENING: An Update

Dear Students and Parents,

We want to share with you information regarding our anticipated re-opening details and what to expect for your training in the next few weeks.

First, Below you will find a notification that went out to all of our instructors and staff last week regarding an Informational Staff Meeting for COVID-19 and School Re-opening. We do not have the specific date, but plans are in place and preparations are being taken. We look forward to sharing our schedule and plan to re-open in the near the future, but first we must meet as a staff.

Second, we are currently producing a new series of videos for our members only section. These videos will explain the requirements for each rank regarding testings. The time you have spent training these last weeks has made a difference toward your minimum time requirements to be eligible to test. You have kept yourself skilled, knowledgeable, and fit.

Many of your were being put up to test prior to the gathering restrictions. Some of you may have become ready through continued training. Wherever you are in your training journey with our style, we want you to know what is expected at each rank so that you can continue to prepare for our reopening.

When we reopen, there will be two considerations that take priority during the first two weeks. First, evaluating all students at their current rank. Second, teaching anyone who does not have their new or entire kata all of it. We will also be doing presentations of belts and certificates for those who earned rank before we had to close our physical doors. Within these first weeks, testings will be set up for those who are ready.

Third, we have a written plan and schedule in place for re-opening that meets all health, social distancing, prevention, and cleaning guidelines. Copies of these plans have already been submitted to our elected officials.

We hope you and your families are healthy and safe. Keep training!

Headmaster Stalloch

NOTICE THAT WAS EMAILED TO OUR STAFF LAST WEEK:

Staff and Instructors Informational Guidelines

for

COVID-19 and School Reopening

On Friday May 29, 2020 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. I and Headmaster Stalloch will be having an informational Staff Meeting to cover the guidelines for our reopening of the school.  This is for everyone whether you teach on a specific night or come in randomly.  This needs to be done before any students or community members are allowed back.  All Instructors and Staff must understand the guidelines for health and safety that are being implemented for our reopening.  This involves cleaning procedures, our new no-touch thermometer, how the classes will be structured, the length of the new classes at the outset, what days we will be open in the beginning, attendance methods, topics, how to sign up new students during this period plus more according to CDC and WHO guidelines.  Our students’ safety has always been a main priority, and this has not changed.

Everyone must have their own face masks; we have hand sanitizer and will have already wiped down the facility.  We will spread out, creating the social distancing in training hall one using the training floor and audience seating area.  If you have a concern regarding coming because of yourself or the safety of one of your family members do not come.  If you have a cold, fever, cough, or just feel sick do not come.  Only staff and instructors will be allowed in the building (as a business we are still closed) and we will be checking everyone’s temperature.  Your health and safety are a priority just as our students’ health and safety is.

If you will not be there call and let me know before May 27.  I look forward to seeing you and all of us sharing our Ki energy.  This is a big step in preparation for reopening.
