Iaido/Batto Style Testing Results for June 9, 2021

Joseph DeTraglia completed an extensive testing in the traditional Iaido style of Takenouchi-Hangan-Ryu-Matsuno-Crandall Iaido/Batto style of martial arts. In this traditional Iaido there are only three levels of training: Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced status. Joseph’s completion of the Iaido katas, Batto katas, Muto Dori, Body

Kamaes, Kumi Tachi, and verbal and written knowledge of the Bushi Oshie (Samurai Teachings) led him to successfully pass and he has earned the rank of Intermediate Status. As an Intermediate Student, he is now permitted to use a live sword as he expands his training in this 300-year-old art form.
