How to Get Feedback on your Highest Kata

American Martial Arts Institute

American Eagle Style

April 24, 2020

Dear Students and Parents,

Here's your mission, if you choose to accept it: Send us a video of your kata for feedback.

Who:

  • All students of American Eagle Style and American Eagle Cane Style, all ranks, all ages.

What:

  • Video yourself doing your highest kata (once) at 3/4 speed for us to see.

  • The kata is only to be viewed by Grandmaster Crandall and Headmaster Stalloch.

  • It will not be used by us in any other way (not posted publicly or shown to others), and we will delete the file after viewing it.

  • The purpose is for us to be able to give you feedback on what you are doing well and what may need to be improved.

When

  • Please send it to us by next Friday, May 1st

  • We will accept late videos, but would like them sooner than later.

  • When will you hear back from us: Headmaster Stalloch will email you back with comments as the videos come in. Time will be set aside each day to get through as many as possible, but you will hear back from us within a week of your submission.

Where

  • Film at home in your uniform (indoors or outdoors). In shoes or without. Submit online (see below)

Why

  • To receive feedback on your training

How

  • If your file is small, you may email it to contact@amai-eaglestyle.com

  • If your file is large and won't fit in email, please use WeTransfer.Com to send your file to contact@amai-eaglestyle.com. It is free.

  • If you have trouble sending your file, contact us at this address and we will get back to you with options.

Your participation in this opportunity is voluntary. Anyone uncomfortable with filming and sending us a video should not feel pressured to do so. It is not a requirement, simply a chance for you to get some feedback if you desire it.

We really enjoyed speaking with many of you last week through zoom, and I look forward to seeing how your training is progressing.

Keep training,

Headmaster Stalloch
