Paw Patrol Visits Superkick Program

On Saturday, February 4, Paw Patrol stopped by the training hall to help Grandmaster Crandall and Master Stalloch talk to the Superkick class about "helpers" such as fire fighters and police officers. The boys and girls were excited to meet Chase and Marshall.

The Superkick class is a traditional martial arts program for 3 to 5 year olds which can help students improve listening skills, motor skills, and more. The classes run in 3 month sessions and meet Saturday mornings for 45 mintues. All classes are taught by multiple black belt instructors, which allows the young students to be worked with in smaller groups. Students learn punches, kicks, basic forms, kata, and self-defense techniques as a means of improving listening skills, group participation skills, and confidence which can help them to be more successful in the public school system.

The program also utilizes a 122-page book (the Superkick Workbook) with information about the school, style, and techniques learned in the program. It also includes activities and information about dealing with strangers, finding help when lost, and community helper. It also utilizes the Tiger Lily and Julia Adventure Series for Children. All of these books are distributed by Amazon.Com, and written by American Martial Arts Institute instructors.

With help from Chase and Marshall from Paw Patrol, Grandmaster Crandall covered the importance of reading to strengthen the mind, how to find help when lost, and how police and fire fighters are women and men in uniform that can be turned to for help.

Each of the children got the opportunity to personally meet both Chase and Marshall, and a group picture was taken at the end of the class.

Parental permission was obtained from all parents/guardians before including them on this webpage.
