New Senior Instructor
Mrs. Gisella Stalloch

In the American Martial Arts Institute, it takes years of training and dedication to earn the rank of black belt. American Eagle Style students may continue to train in regular classes until 4th degree black belt without ever needing to teach. Some students desire to deepen their understanding of the style, and once they have earned the rank of 1st degree black belt, if they are also at least eighteen years of age, they may request to enter the school's staff. If accepted, they no longer train in regular classes and complete an extensive apprenticeship to learn how to teach the style.

Instructors must be recertified annually by Grandmaster Crandall. The instructors assist Grandmaster Crandall in teaching the American Eagle Style by taking direct responsibility and accountibility for students. It is important to understand that every student in the American Martial Arts Institute is a student of Grandmaster Crandall. Therefore, instructors are advanced adult black belt students whom Grandmaster Crandall trusts to supervise the training of lower ranking students.

Titled Instructors are instructors who take on additional administrative responsibilites for the school. The titles of Senior Instructor and Chief Instructor are appointed titles and are not linked to a rank. For example, a fourth degree senior instructor does not outrank an untitled fifth degree instructor. Ranks and titles are separate. These titles may be given or taken away based on the school's needs. Titled instructors are responsible for paperwork, organizing programs, judging at black belt testings, maintaining the school's website, and a variety of other "behind the scenes," activities important to allow the school to operate.

The title Master Instructor is a recognition that is associated with earning the rank of 7th degree black belt. An individual who tests for and earns the rank of 7th Dan is a Master based on their knowledge of the style.

Grandmaster Crandall is pleased to announce the addition of a Senior Instructor to the American Martial Arts Institute, Mrs. Gisella Stalloch.
