Note of Appreciation
A school's growth is seen by everyone, but an important reason for that growth is often overlooked. The stimulant for growth is the group of people who choose to walk the demanding road as instructors for that school. This select group of individuals learn the style well enough, not only to do it well, but to be able to teach a wide variety of men and women, young and old, of all walks of life. As instructors' families grow and change, as their jobs become more demanding or they are relocated and as their community, religious and social responsibilities change, these giving individuals sometimes find that they can no longer give the time to teach the martial arts. Although still promoting their school and carrying their school style with pride, they find themselves unable to attend classes and be an agent of growth in the school's future. This does not change the appreciation that is held by those they taught and those they touched. I, as the head of the American Martial Arts Institute, truly thank these dedicated individuals who all gave over 5 years of teaching to our school and helped it become what it is today. I also wish to keep alive in the minds of the many new instructors the names of those who helped bring us to our present place in the world of martial arts. Thanks to these past black belt instructors: Benedicto Albizu Master Jill Crandall
